The Remarkable Impact of Your Life

Are you aware that your life has a remarkable impact?

If you answered “no,” then you’re like most of us. We just don’t see our influence as we navigate among our family, friends and colleagues.

Ripples

At best, we probably consider the significance of our life as a pebble dropped into a pond with small ripples moving out.

God would differ with that opinion of ourself. He created us with high value and and to lead lives of influence for His purposes.

Here are four important reminders about God’s view of your life:

  1. You are CHOSEN and CALLED BY NAME– “I chose you!” (John 15:16). “I have called you by name, you are mine!” (Isa. 43:1). You have been selected and picked out from the crowd to serve God’s purposes in the world.
  2. You are APPOINTED TO BE FRUITFUL– “I have appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit!” (John 15:16). God will use your life in greater ways than you realize.
  3. You are CREATED FOR GOD’S GLORY– “I have created you for My glory…” (Isa. 43:7). Bringing glory and attention to God is not a pebble in pond, but a large boulder splashing out with large ripples.
  4. You can LEAVE A MULTI-GENERATIONAL LEGACY– “They should teach them (God’s commandments) to their children…even the children yet to be born, that they may arise and tell them to their children, that they should put their confidence in God…” (Psalm 78:5-7). God has a big vision for your life! With your cooperation, He can set the ripples in motion to spread across multiple generations.

As an idea for the coming week, ask God to begin giving you an expanded vision of the influence of your life. Stay aware of how He communicates to you through His word, people, circumstances and ideas that come to you. Write them down to keep track and see the themes He is bringing to your attention.

As you take the verses above to heart, remember you are chosen by God to fruitfully accomplish His purposes in the world!
