13. Faithful to the End
Faithful to the End
Being faithful to the end is an uncompromising attitude that nothing will deter us from living fully for the Lord until we take our last breath on the earth. Every succeeding year promises greater intimacy with the Father and increasing impact in His kingdom. It often is a season of reward in which we experience the fruit of our labors.
We finish what we start and complete our divine assignments as best we know how. Every shred of our strength is thrown into the endeavor of finishing well for the Lord.
The apostle Paul said it this way: “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14). The phrase “press on” means to pursue with all speed or aggressively chase like a hunter after a catch. It represents an intense effort to achieve a desired result.
The influence of our life is significant when we make the tough decision to finish well no matter what the cost. Future generations will be impacted by the strength of that choice and the benefits which resulted.
As we stay faithful to the end, we will continue to see mountains moved as the Almighty uses us in ways we never expected. “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6).
