In a conversation recently, a friend made an insightful comment about life from a musical perspective.
He said that a “pause” in music is just as important as the notes. It contributes to the the flow of the overall score.
I thought that was especially profound related to life’s transitions.
We may think we are stalled when actually God is calling us to pause and go deep with Him. He intentionally will stop us in our tracks to speak into our life in new ways. This process is not easy, but very necessary.
In a symphony, as the score progresses it builds to a crescendo near the end of the piece. There it makes its dramatic finale.
Do you believe that can happen for you? That the pause you may be experiencing is an invitation from God to prepare you for the growing crescendo of your life?
Instead of resisting the pause and feeling set aside, what if you used it to say “yes” to God to do His deep work in your heart? He will move you from the comfort of the shallow end where you can touch the bottom and take you into the deep end. There will be unknowns and trust will be forged in new ways.
It will be worth the risk. The deep end is where God’s adventure is discovered. He will meet you there in ways you never imagined.
All of this can result from embracing the “pause” in your life. It is a vital next step of preparation as God orchestrates the notes, harmony and beauty for the climactic later sections of your symphony.
