Can You Pray “I’ll Do Anything and Go Anywhere?”

I had a friend pose the following question to me: “Can you honestly pray to God saying that you’ll do anything and go anywhere for Him no matter what?”

He said that it had taken him a long time to get to that place. But he could honestly mean it now.

I was impressed because I’m not sure I could commit to it. Could you?

Think about the implications of that simple prayer. You would be raising your hand and saying yes to any assignment for the God of heaven.

That’s what Isaiah did:

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?

Then I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’

(Isaiah 6:8)

I wonder how many adventures from God we forgo because we have a long list of requirements that must be met before we’ll say “yes.” We can put ourselves in a small box. Scant few tasks can make it through.

Is there anything pressing on your heart that could be a nudge from the Lord?

Is He merely waiting for you to say, “I’ll do anything and go anywhere for You!”

I’m up for it. How about you?
